| Restaurant Medure has enraptured the Beaches trendy dining crowd with a fancifully eclectic menu and a sleek décor. Order an appetizer of smoked salmon with potato croquette followed by an entrée of fried flounder with sweet corn grits and sriracha aïoli or pecan-crusted rack of lamb, sun-dried tomato whipped potato and mint pesto. Desserts have included Chambord-marinated blackberry cobbler with white chocolate ice cream or banana and chocolate bread pudding with peanut butter ice cream. The eatery is the freer establishment to Jacksonville’s intimate Matthew's. Matthew Medure's brother, David, presides. However, Medure offers a much different ambience, with 4,500-square-feet of space divided into areas that are, at turns, romantic, posh, festive and airy. Overstuffed chairs, brushed metals and polished wood surfaces create a neutral palette that's anything but dull. Floor-to-ceiling wine storage acts as architectural partitions and holds the restaurant's extensive wine list. Definitely a place to linger. |
