Restaurant North Restaurant Review

: Executive chef Eric Gabrynowicz (Blue Smoke) and Stephen Paul Mancini, former wine director at Maialino, are behind this Armonk venture inspired by the farm-to-table experience. The streamlined interior awash in creams and whites with a matching marble top bar is fresh and modern, even chic. Meanwhile, the daily changing menu is determined by the pickings at local farms in nearby Katonah and surrounding areas. The result is food that can be rustic with minimal fuss, or artistic and even esoteric but never pretentious. Everything from burgers with blends of Pat LaFrieda cuts like sirloin, skirt, hanger and brisket paired with pork confit to delicate filets of cod seasoned with eclectic vegetable purée emphasize the natural flavors in each dish. Most selections are grilled, baked or roasted using salt, pepper, various fresh herbs and spices as well as oil. Desserts are fruity and creative with a touch of the nostalgic. Not surprisingly, the wine list is meticulous, reflecting varietals from sustainable vineyards, local growers and organic producers.
