| The architecture and décor evoke a French bistro of another era; the menu reflects these sensibilities as well, albeit with some modern twists courtesy of chef-owner Michael Carrino. Try his memorable seafood preparation of pan-seared north Atlantic cod with forbidden black rice risotto, a shallot fondue and sauce beurre rouge. Also appealing is the seven-spiced Jurgielewicz Farms duck breast served with a sweet soy glaze, scallion pancakes and red onion-apple gastrique. Although rarely menu stars, soups here excel; highly seasonal is the ginger-infused roasted butternut squash. The menu changes often and depends entirely on the chef’s inspiration. Restaurant Passionné is a BYOB, so do yourself a favor and bring one of your best bottles---the food deserves it. |
