On the ground floor of the glass monstrosity that is the SoHo Trump tower is this restaurant where talented chef Fabrizio Carro has created a decidedly upscale approach to Italian cuisine. Amidst the Murano chandeliers and thick columns bedecked with deep green tiles, diners gorge on dishes like pillowy foie gras-stuffed ravioli (drizzled with a foie gras sauce) and long rectangular spinach and ricotta dumplings that are pan-fried and crispy on the outside and paired with extra crispy chanterelles. In the “secondi” department, the tuna filets topped with salsa verde are generously portioned and lightly spiced while the brick-pressed chicken retains a lot of flavor. Desserts threaten to steal the show: the hazelnut cake paired with vanilla crème anglaise and the nougat panna cotta make for a nice encore. The wine list includes several Italian and Californian options by the glass.
