 Rialto Restaurant Review: The flagship restaurant at the Charles Hotel in Harvard Square continues to wow guests with chef Jody Adams’ sophisticated flavors of Italy. The attractive restaurant is an appropriate spot for a celebration or special occasion. Adams has streamlined her kitchen to focus on a regional approach to Italian cuisine with starters like lobster bucatini, toasted potato gnocchi and porcini tagliatelle. Pastas and grains have always been at the forefront of Adams’ offerings, but her menu now includes a variety of game dishes, such as braised rabbit leg, slow-roasted duck, and venison contrasted with an apricot compote. Add to this a varied and constantly evolving wine list with unobtrusive service. Whatever else you do, be sure to indulge in the souffléd ricotta pancake with grappa cherry compote and vanilla ice cream. For added value, there is a $40 fixed-price menu available in the dining room Sundays through Thursdays, plus a more casual and less expensive bar menu. |
