Rice & Company Restaurant Review: Located on the Luxor Hotel & Casino’s second level at the entryway to The Shoppes at Mandalay Place, this bistro features an intermingling of Asian cuisines. A modern décor with earth tones, natural wood and stone accents contributes to a relaxed and casual atmosphere. Executive sushi chef Danny Chen prepares traditional sushi and sashimi selections and imaginative specialty rolls such as the "wicked" --- yellowtail with spicy tuna, cucumber and avocado drizzled with a spicy garlic ponzu sauce. Kitchen chef John Kan capably delivers Cantonese classics, such as Mongolian beef, kung pao and General Tso’s chicken. But we recommend looking beyond the standards to the Singapore noodles, which are dusted with curry and topped with shredded pork, shrimp, bell peppers, onions and bean sprouts, or the lobster and jumbo lump crab cake (no breading means each bite is purely shellfish) paired with sea beans and yuzu teriyaki hollandaise. More than a dozen sakés are available, along with creative signature cocktails such as the saké sangria. Desserts include crème brûlée and assorted Asian-themed flavors of sorbet and gelato.
