THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Rick's Restaurant Review:

This small, unpretentious frame house is a cozy place for a quick lunch when touring the historic Gold Rush-era town of Dahlonega. Art by the Rev. Howard Finster, a famed north Georgia folk artist, adorns the walls. Far better than most restaurants in such places, Rick’s deals in freshly made food that, even when it misses the mark, still demonstrates caring and an effort above the crowd. Pay attention to the daily soups; our hearty potato soup was full of flavor and rich. Bread is the partially baked stuff, but it’s not bad, and comes to the table with a balsamic/olive oil dip that’s better for greens than for bread. Ask for butter. Salads at lunch look like a good deal, although the burgers will tempt us on our next visit. The wine list is a constant work in progress, and offers an amazingly adventurous variety, with plenty to choose from by the glass.
