Riean Thai Cuisine Restaurant Restaurant Review: Just when you think one more Thai restaurant cannot possibly fit into the local restaurant scene, you find that one has. As you might predict, few make the mark as true Thai, and this, alas, is no exception. Portions are small and so were the flavors---except for the roast duck salad, which had enough shredded ginger and crushed chilies to more than make up for the rest of the meal. One thing to its credit: here is a restaurant trying to break the mold by offering some unusual dishes. But to add to the culinary confusion, the kitchen has kept on part of the menu of the earlier Cantonese restaurant---Hope Key---that occupied the premises. For the uninitiated, crab-ginger-garlic might be mistaken for Thai when it is actually Cantonese. Besides the duck salad, we voted the drunken noodle dish next best, but that leaves a big menu full of so-so fare.
