Ripasso Restaurant Review: Former Terragusto chef/owner Theo Gilbert makes a strong comeback with this Italian eatery located where Bucktown meets Wicker Park. Ripasso’s dining space includes a few cozy booths, bar seats at the back, and communal butcher-block tables up front. A seasonally-changing menu of appetizers and entrées showcases Gilbert’s signature pastas plus house-cured salumi and slow-cooked meatballs in a rich tomato sauce. Gilbert brings back a spin on Terragusto’s famous roasted Gunthorp Farms half-chicken. Wash it all down with a wine selection from the carefully chosen list or creative cocktails. Chef’s tasting menus with or without wine pairings are also available and a nice date-night option.
