THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Ritz Asia Restaurant Review

: Anchored on the corner of bustling MacDougal and Bleecker Streets, Ritz Asia attempts to serve high quality Asian dishes at an affordable price. And largely it succeeds. The menu spins around Asia, but most people come here for the sushi, which is far better than your average sushi spot. The usual array of rolls is on the menu along with a long list of signature rolls such as the Bleecker Street roll and the SoHo roll---how does one attribute eel to the West Village in the neighborhood’s namesake roll anyway? Whatever the case, the fish is melt-in-the-mouth fresh. The sushi entrées, such as the unagi don---several slices of barbecued eel atop a mountain of bonito-flaked rice---are an especially good bet. The wine and saké list is brief, but thoughtfully edited to meet every thirsty diner’s needs.
