You wouldn’t necessarily assume there was an interesting restaurant at this tourist hub, but don’t judge a book by its cover. Located in one of Chicago's most high-traffic attractions, this place is anything but casual and inexpensive. By contrast, Riva is prissy and spendy, though the café on the lower level is a better deal all around. And you will be hard put to find a better view of the city skyline. The menu bounces around seafood, steaks and pasta. Owner Phil Stefani has several Italian restaurants around the city, and the menu---with its lobster diavolo and linguine with clam sauce---follows suit. But you’ll find the likes of ahi with Chinese long beans and Thai-inspired demi-glace as well. Of course, like most restaurants these days, small plates are offered, including whole grilled shrimp with micro salad and piquillo vinaigrette. The service can be a bit laid-back, especially given what you’ll spend, but the wine list is pretty good.
