About the restaurant & décor: You wouldn’t assume there to be an interesting restaurant at this tourist hub, but don’t judge a book by its cover. Located within one of Chicago's most highly trafficked attractions, this place is anything but casual, inexpensive or boring. Instead, Riva is prissy and spendy, and it offers an amazing view of the skyline, lake and fireworks ignited from Navy Pier.

Likes: Fresh seafood and skyline views.

Food & Drinks: The menu bounces around seafood, steaks and pasta, starting with seafood towers and black mussels steeped in tomato broth. Then, it’s on to jumbo crab cakes or Lobster Diavolo atop linguine and spicy tomato sauce. You’ll also find the likes of French cut lemony chicken with seared lemons and crispy potatoes. Sweet finales might include flourless chocolate cake. The service can be a bit laid-back, especially given what you’ll spend; the wine list is solid.
