Riverside Public House Restaurant Review

: Multi-faceted Riverside Public House is divided up into three distinct sections: the oval-shaped bar serves as a divider between the drinking and dining areas, while space further back is dedicated to live music and dance parties. But the food plays an important role, and it's no wonder given chef Dustin Gallagher (Grace, Top Chef Canada) is at the helm. Gallagher makes every condiment from scratch, and he's a strong proponent of ethically sourced meat and seafood as well as local and organic produce. Appetizers are creative, as evidenced by the lobster and wasabi deviled eggs, while mains are fairly standard with burgers, trout, stroganoff, fried chicken and potpie leading the charge. Holding up to the Public House moniker, the bar is stocked with plenty of microbrews and imported beers. The wine list is limited yet sufficient, and the cocktails are inventive. This is a one-stop shop for dinner, drinks and dancing.
