Robata Grill & Sake Bar Restaurant Review: Now in its third decade, Robata Grill & Sake Bar has yet to change its original atmosphere or its forever-gracious service. (If it works, don't fix it!) A number of specialty rolls augment the menu of maki and nigiri from the sushi bar. We recommend the sand dab roll: the locals' favorite fish is matched up with macadamia nuts and avocado for a satisfying treat. As the restaurant's name implies, there is a vast selection of grilled items as well as specialties such as deep-fried Japanese eggplant and various seaweed salads. Another nice touch --- the kids’ menu offers either udon or a bento box of fresh Japanese cuisine. Stick to the saké bar and stay far away from the wines by the glass. Those lacquered wooden benches are easy to slide into, but sit for an hour or so and you'll slide out with a backache.
