| A midtown destination restaurant based on its perch above Central Park and location on the ninth floor of the Museum of Arts & Design, Robert offers fantastic city views. Fresh American cuisine is presented in a modern, color-dappled room with artsy touches including overhead acrylic panels set at various angles. Simple dishes are the strongest choices here, such as a salad of radishes and mesclun dressed with a citrus yuzu blend. Grilled salmon or branzino were fresh if unexciting, with accompaniments including fava beans, fingerling potatoes, white asparagus or morels. The dessert of homemade bombolini, served with three dipping sauces, is a lush ending. Ask for a north-facing window seat so you can survey busy Columbus Circle as well as stare over the treetops to the tony apartment buildings rimming the park. Your meal check allows you discounted entry into the museum and reduced prices in the gift store. |
