Rock Bottom Restaurant & Brewery Restaurant Review: Founded in Denver, Colo., in 1991, Rock Bottom makes brews on-site that range from pale ales and light lagers to a particularly good stout. The brews are decent, but most lack a mid-palate and depth of flavor, except for the aforementioned big, bold stout. Southern Flyer lies a bit more gently on the tongue so might appeal more to patrons who prefer a lighter touch. The Sweet Magnolia, Rock Bottom’s nutty brown ale, achieves stardom in the house-made barbecue sauce applied to chicken and ribs. Other house favorites include steak BLT sliders, along with popular nachos and wings, burgers and sandwiches. Ask about any seasonal offerings, such as an Oktoberfest smoked pork loin with Jack Daniel's apple raisin sauce, mashed redskin potatoes and fresh steamed vegetables. For dessert, try the carrot cake or triple-chocolate brownie.
