RockBass Grill Restaurant Review: Late restaurant designer Joe Phelan was brought on board to tweak this nautical nook setting overlooking downtown Harrisburg and the Susquehanna. The restaurant is done in seaworthy royal blue and deep red paint stripes, with polished ship captain flooring and enlarged porthole windows. Appetizers include the signature crab dip and a Monterey Jack-capped Pennsylvania Dutch-style soft pretzel braid. Other starters range from coconut shrimp, mini crab cakes and clams casino (an old-fashioned remake that is buttery crumbed) to a spinach and artichoke dip. Raw bar or steamer choices are lush with natural juices. Huge, plate-covering main course salads are assemblies of fresh ingredients; steak, crab cake, chicken and hoisin-glazed salmon are topping possibilities. While seafood risotto and blackened chicken Alfredo are also entrées, keep the choice easy by ordering the catch of the day. It's always the freshest item on the menu, personalized by preparation style and finishing sauce.
