It might be hard to find a time when The Rockfish isn’t hopping. Popular with local politicos for fundraisers and boasting a lively bar scene and live music, this Eastport hotspot is definitely noisy---and definitely fun. And now it’s “green” as well, with totally wind-powered operations and the use of Bay-saving sustainable seafood. In addition to the seafood---Maryland’s state fish appears, of course, butterflied with herbs or topped with lump crab---the menu offers pasta, gourmet pizzas, traditional favorites like barbecued ribs and grilled chicken breast, and also such items as beef Wellington. The open-plan dining space, brick-walled with plain wood floors and evening candle light, is contemporary, but compatible with Annapolis’s colonial vibe. Scenesters relax on comfy leather couches in the lounge, where, weather willing, you may find a crackling fire in the hearth.
