Rojo Restaurant Review: Laney DeJonge and Clark Lopez offer Latin dishes like organic steak fajitas, red chili pork burritos and spinach-and-mushroom quesadillas. Tacos with arugula and pineapple salsa may enfold chicken or mahi mahi. On the American side, a burger topped with bacon and blue cheese or a blackened-tilapia salad would satisfy. Finish with blackberry cobbler or peanut butter cream pie. Chorizo con huevos and breakfast burritos are among brunch options. Organic wines are available on the short wine list, while other libations include imported and domestic beers, and house-made sangría. Rojo opens the first Tuesday of each month for the Sidewalk Salon, where Birmingham filmmakers and film fans assemble for networking and a guest speaker on movie-related issues. Doors open at 6 p.m. for this event, and all are welcome. |
