Rosa Mexicano Restaurant Review: Once upon a time it was hard to find good Mexican food in New York, but it finally arrived in the form of Rosa Mexicano. This Union Square outpost of the popular Upper East Side eatery serves up haute Mexican to a young and happy clientele. Here New Yorkers are treated to tasty and memorable dishes like the grilled filet mignon covered with a wild mushroom-tequila cream sauce; the baked soft corn tortillas filled with pulled chicken, Chihuahua cheese and roasted Mexican peppers, served with poblano cream sauce; and the ancho chilies filled with sautéed spinach, wild mushrooms and goat cheese over roasted tomato chipotle sauce. The restaurant also offers a feast for the eyes. The David Rockwell-designed space (which tops off at 10,000 square feet) features Rosa's signature water-cascading wall and enough chic to transport you from New York to Nueva York. |
