| Lurid, neon-bright colors reverberate around the cavernous dining room, which boasts two bars, separated dining areas, and sidewalk-window views of MCI Center and the passing scene: It's a bit unnerving to perch at a window chair with pedestrians only inches away. First up, if you are in the mood, is tableside guacamole-making---that way, you get chips and dip, and otherwise, you won't. Then it's time to scan the menu, a bit Mexican, a bit Tex-ican, and thoroughly Yankee throughout. We aimed for the special chorizo quesadillas, expecting a mighty appetizer. Instead came three diminutive corn tortillas folded over an oozing and slightly orange-ish sausage filling. Don't hesitate to lavish on spoonfuls of the chopped salsa on the side, for this is what gives the appetizer its flavor. While that disappointed, the main course, Budin Azteca, more than made up for the paucity of the first course. Desserts include a Mexican cheesecake. |
