Richard Rosendale has an enviable résumé, including a stint at The Greenbrier resort. Located in the former Winders Chevrolet building, his namesake restaurant is divided into two floors: the downstairs is informal while a semi-private balcony seats up to 55 guests. Oversize windows provide diners with an interesting view of High Street and the Short North. But it’s the food that draws patrons. Choose from an à la carte menu with more traditional flavor profiles or opt for the extended tasting menu that’s replete with progressive ingredient combinations. Start with the bourbon-roasted pear, shaved Westphalian ham, blue cheese and spiced pecans; honey-glazed pork loin with Southern fried spoon bread, braised greens, sweet potato purée, crispy pork rinds and smoky pork jus is a good follow-up. Rum sponge cake with white chocolate ice cream ends meals on a blissful note.
