Cozy in the winter, and open to dining al fresco in the warmer months, with a view of Rittenhouse Square, Rouge combines this lush ambience with food that is essentially American with classic influences. An agreeable wine list complements special dishes like roast chicken with white truffle-mashed potatoes, traditional steak frites and gingered tuna tartare. You can run in for a plate of first-rate oysters and a glass of Louis Latour Chardonnay, or have an entire meal. The bar is a see-and-be-seen scene. The burger, dripping with Gruyère and caramelized onions, is one of the best in town. |
