Royal Blend Coffee & Tea House Restaurant Review: Shopping for antiques, collectibles and art on historic Royal Street can be an all-day affair, so it’s good to know where to take a break. Tucked among the galleries and boutiques, a carriageway leads to this modest oasis for quality coffee drinks, breakfast pastries and, at lunchtime, a selection of mostly perfunctory salads, soups and light main courses. Yet surprisingly, we have not found a better chicken salad sandwich in town. To go with that coffee, we like the lemon squares and brownies. There is a small dining area indoors, but the classic French Quarter courtyard is a picture perfect spot for lolling and greatly enhances the allure of this tree-shaded coffeehouse.
