Royal Hawaiian Restaurant Review

: The iconic tiki-themed Laguna Beach restaurant Royal Hawaiian has re-opened after shuttering in 2012 following a 65-year run. Old-school patrons can reacquaint themselves with the eatery's beloved tiki cocktails (including the refreshing Lapu Lapu) and memorabilia, along with a more contemporary menu designed by chef Jonathan Pflueger. Pupus (small plates) include ahi tuna poke, crabcakes and caramelized five onion soup, while among the larger offerings are basil-scented onaga (Hawaiian red snapper), huli huli chicken and hoisin glazed spareribs.
