The split-level dining room at Royal Thai cleverly manages to give each table a feeling of intimacy, a mood enhanced by soft lighting from candles. Check out the stained-glass lobster that dominates the room and nibble on crispy krupuk (rice wafers) with a tangy tamarind sauce while waiting for your order: perhaps marinated, barbecued squid or a crunchy, refreshing-fiery-green-papaya salad.
