Roy's Restaurant Review: This Roy's outpost at Anaheim's GardenWalk, which is located across the street from the Anaheim Convention Center and The Disney Resort, is a welcome asset to the city’s dining scene. Especially good for business crowds and groups, the restaurant has a rather large private room for dinner meetings and accommodates solo diners who eat in the lounge or at the sushi bar. The minimalist interior won’t transport you to Honolulu, but it’s certainly a good place to relax and get away from the hordes of tourists and conventioneers in this part of town. Don’t miss starting with one of Roy’s specialty cocktails, such as the Hawaiian martini made by infusing fresh pineapple with a blend of Skyy, Stoli Vanil and Malibu Rum. Roy’s three-course seasonal prix-fixe menu starts with a sampler of signature appetizers, offers a choice of three classic entrées, and ends with seasonally inspired desserts like a soufflé or warm mango cobbler. But most people come here for the fresh fish prepared with bold Asian spices, served with European-style sauces, perhaps blackened ahi in a spicy soy mustard butter. The wines are mostly first-rate, and there’s quite a large by-the-glass selection. |
