A riotous blend of Asian kitsch, carefully calculated food and savvy service makes Ruby Foo's a runaway hit. Add the lights and excitement of Times Square and you've got a whole lotta fun. (Steve Hanson, who operates half a dozen popular eating spots in Manhattan, scores again.) The guest count at dinner sometimes tops 1,400 so don't expect to carry on an intimate conversation. Ruby Foo's sushi dessert is sweets in the shape and look of various Japanese hand rolls. For lighter fare, try the pre-theater bento box or a dish from the gluten-free menu.
