THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Rudys' 2900 Restaurant Review: The menu descriptions are deceptively simple: lemon-roasted Cornish game hen, pheasant paillard with game sausage and haricots verts, lobster pot pie with Champagne sauce. It doesn't even hint at the Old World finesse with which these dishes arrive at your table. The Champagne sauce with that lobster pie is masterful, and the game sausage with the pheasant is house-made by someone who knows how. Rudys' 2900 runs decidedly toward the old-fashioned, with a wine list to match, but in a manner proud to carry on the traditions of Continental dining. The environment is suitably formidable, leaning towards weighty florals in salmon and green. And the service is gracious and attentive. Lighter fare, available early and late in the evening, runs to the Germanic---think salmon cake with fried onions and applewood-smoked pork loin with cabbage and mashed potatoes.
