THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Rue de Paris Restaurant Restaurant Review:
Noëlle Thomas and her two daughters, Sandrine and Virginie, left their fancier digs at Le Saint Amour and opened the Rue de Paris in a busy, in-town neighborhood. Mme. Thomas says she likes feeling more like shes in a neighborhood here, where people greet her as she goes about her business. And her business is serving the standards of French bistro fare, such as crispy, rich confit of duck with potatoes, roasted spaghetti squash and julienne carrots. Stalwart dishes include salade Niçoise, steamed mussels, coq au vin, lots of seafood and crème brûlée. Soufflée Grand Marnier and fresh fruit tarts are staples among the desserts, which are all desserts made in-house. The short wine list has both American and French offerings, with good ones available by the glass. Service is warm, professional and typically bistro-like casual. If you wish to dine really late, such as after 11 p.m., call ahead.
