| Ruth’s Chris, with its Prime cuts of tender steaks sizzling in butter, serves an affluent clientele of regulars and those looking for a special occasion splurge. But it’s not just about steaks; the menu also includes veal, lamb, chicken or fish. Nevertheless, for first time visitors especially, we suggest Ruth's Chris' hand-cut U.S.D.A. Prime Midwestern filet mignon, rib-eye, New York strip or porterhouse steaks, accompanied by one of many potato selections, sautéed mushrooms or giant asparagus spears with hollandaise sauce. Recommended starters include the sizzling blue-crab cakes with lemon butter prepared with the welcome absence of mayonnaise, and shrimp rémoulade with a spicy Creole sauce. For a taste of a steak and seafood duo, opt for the shrimp and filet mignon combination consisting of two four-ounce filets topped with sautéed shrimp. Desserts like the bread pudding with whisky sauce provide a sweet conclusion. The wine list offers plenty of big reds to complement the hearty steaks. |
