THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Safran Restaurant Review:

This colorful Vietnamese restaurant boasts a long banquette, a looming and large Buddha statue at the back of the narrow room, and the usual variety of European electronic music seeping from the speakers. It all belies the not-so-adventurous theme of the menu. Which isn’t a bad thing. It’s hard to improve upon giant bowls of rich pho, a beef-laden noodle soup; the chicken satay, which is accompanied by a creamy peanut sauce; or the tamarind-lemon grass-glazed spare ribs. There’s also a selection of “nouveau” dishes---foie gras with caramelized pear, for example---that don’t hold up to the classics. The small but affordable wine list and a full bar make everything go down a bit easier.
