THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Saigon Restaurant Restaurant Review: Some people say the addition of a liquor license has changed the tenor of this tiny Vietnamese restaurant, but we dont think so. The food is still fresh and engaging, the crowd still homespun, the atmosphere still no frills, and the staff still endeavoring to learn English. The menu offers a fine primer on the basics of the cuisine, from the many incarnations of the sturdy beef soup called pho to the wide variety of noodle dishes and grilled meats to culinary specialties like shrimp paste on a sugar cane stick. In traditional style, the dishes are generously endowed with fresh vegetables and the flavors mild and reassuring.
