THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Saito's Japanese Cafe & Bar Restaurant Review:
Saito’s Japanese Café & Bar is a favorite on the crowded Belltown restaurant scene, and people-watchers will be happy to learn it is also frequented by local luminaries such as Mariners baseball star Kazuhiro Sasaki. An instantly embraced business lunch spot, Saito’s has all the kitchen expertise of Shiro’s (a few blocks north), but with less formality---perhaps due to the more casual service style. If you are craving good Japanese food or sushi, Saito’s is a safe bet. At lunch, guests choose from sushi plates (all come with miso), donburis (bowl food using seasonal vegetables and meat served over rice), noodle dishes like yaki udon and yakisoba, and teriyaki. Sashimi is rated among the very best in Seattle. Some of the dinner offerings have a Western feel when it comes to presentation, although the flavors are decidedly Asian. Start with gyoza (pot stickers) and follow with the braised kasu black cod filet.
