THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Sala Restaurant Review

: The bar and dining areas at this intimate restaurant are awash in bronze accents; the patio grants a more colorful view of downtown Dallas. The appetizer menu’s holy trinity consists of pico de gallo, guacamole and classic queso (the most distinguished of the trio). Salty chips scrape the last dip out of the bowl or are fine on their own. Traditional Tex-Mex cooking may be found in the chicken enchiladas; ranchero sauce dominates many dishes. If you'd like chef Doug Brown to put a twist on your Tex-Mex, then try the Mexican Club made with chipotle tortillas, pico de gallo, corn and black bean salad, sour cream, bacon, guacamole and a choice of chicken or beef. The sopapillas are first-rate, square-shaped Mexican donuts laced with sugar and cinnamon; one order will satisfy two people. If you don't start with a cocktail then end with a margarita floater: a diner chooses a tequila that is “floated” in with any of the margaritas on the menu, creating a custom-designed drink.
