Housed in a hundred-year-old former granary previously occupied by The Willett House, this upscale seafood and fish restaurant has a marble countertop oyster bar, exposed brick walls, polished wood booths and nautical theme-inspired decorative accents. The menu features an extensive array of freshly shucked oysters on the half-shell from Rhode Island, Maine and other areas; seafood towers present a taste of all the selections the raw bar has to offer. Those who prefer their seafood starters cooked can look forward to the roasted flavors of a tender grilled Mediterranean octopus with edamame hummus, black garlic aïoli and toasted almonds. A jumbo lump crab cake pairs with guacamole, pickled red onions, frisée and lemon. Fish preparations are well executed; Canadian halibut in a tomato velouté is flaky and delicate. Diners seeking land-dwelling options will not be disappointed with the grilled Black Angus burger with truffled Vermont cheddar, brandied shallots, truffle aïoli and smoked bacon, served with french fries. Sancerre, Riesling and other crisp whites work well with the food.
