| Huge picture windows, floor-to-ceiling gauzy drapes stirring in the breeze and throbbing Buena Vista Social Club music all set the scene at this thriving LoDo restaurant. It's a tropical club in Havana or Miami in the 1950s. Downstairs the young crowd stands hip-to-hip, swaying to the conga drums and drinking mojitos or salt-rimmed margaritas. Up a long staircase, there's a quieter dining room serving up dishes like grilled mussels in a coconut broth with a citrus-y dip on the side and spicy sautéed shrimp-and-chicken with coconut and cashews. Everything comes with mashed black beans and shredded papaya. For dessert, try the light, sweet tres leches cake or dense, dark ancho chili-chocolate cake. |
