Sammy's Woodfired Pizza Restaurant Review:

For a large chain restaurant with the word pizza in its name, the menu at this location of Sammy’s is diverse. Though items like ahi poke, a Mongolian shredded duck quesadilla, and wok-cooked shrimp lo mein are available, it’s best to stick with the basics. A chilled roasted vegetable salad with spinach, mozzarella, artichokes and bell peppers makes for a hearty yet healthy start; or go for the lebni, a Mediterranean soft cheese with herb grilled flatbread, a more decadent alternative. Pizzas come in one of three styles: wood-fired, Neapolitan or artisan thin-crust, with most available gluten-free or whole-wheat. A classic margherita zings with plenty of ripe tomatoes, mozzarella and basil while the version with raclette cheese, fingerling potatoes and bacon is smoky and pungent. The wine list is predominantly brand-driven Californian, with a few Italian exceptions. For dessert, try the pizza with a sweet soft cheese and orange blossom honey. A dining room lined with booths and tables jam-packed in the center makes it unnecessarily difficult for servers (and customers) to get to the seats; rather, we suggest opting for a booth on the spacious patio for private conversations.
