Samovar Tea Lounge Restaurant Review: Teas from around the world fill up the full-page menu divided into types of tea from white and green and black to oolong, herbals and pu-erh. The names are as beautiful as the aroma that wafts up on the steam: Jasmine Snowbud, Black Peony Rosette, Water Angel. The uninitiated will appreciate the fine versions of Earl Grey, mint and Samovar's breakfast blend. A menu of sweet and savory dishes is meant to complement the teas and includes wild smoked salmon and eggs, artichoke tarts, gingerbread cake and an amazing bowl of fire-roasted Marcona almonds with vine-ripened Mojave raisins. Patrons enjoy their aromatic experience inside the greenhouse-like modern space, or outside on the patio overlooking Yerba Buena Gardens and the SFMOMA. |
