Samui Thai Restaurant Review: Stepping through the massive doors and steel mesh curtain surrounding the entryway of this surprisingly chic Thai spot is a bit like stepping into Oz. Start off with the restaurant's samui tom kha soup, a rich blend of lemon grass-infused coconut milk broth bobbing with shrimp or chicken. Or try the crispy, gold-crusted wonton dumplings stuffed with chicken, potatoes and mild yellow curry. Thai curries are standouts, especially the green curry. Yum nuah salad, an entrée size portion of the classic beef salad, is fine on a hot afternoon with its strips of rare grilled beef crowned with a forest of fresh greens and cilantro and topped with a tangy vinaigrette dressing. The chili and cashew seafood entrée is light, but richly flavored with shrimp and scallops wok-tossed with bell peppers, onions, carrots and broccoli in a spicy chili sauce. This is definitely a good place to go if you're nearby the upscale outlet mall.
