The tagline for Sandbox is "Eat Drink Play," but it might be more accurate to change the order to "Play Drink Eat." Vintage arcade games, pinball, skiball, Jenga and basketball toss are all on hand to entertain the young, energetic crowd. If you work up an appetite from all the fun and games, step up to one of the three bars and order from the wide-ranging menu of starters (chicken wings, short rib tacos, St. Louis ribs), salads, sandwiches and Neapolitan pizzas (made with gluten-free dough, if desired). The two-level space, which includes a patio out back, lends itself well to private parties. (They can accommodate groups from 25 up to a full buy-out for 450 guests.) During happy hour (daily from 5 p.m.-7 p.m., Mon.-Thurs. 10 p.m.-12 a.m.) all draft beers, wines by the glass and well drinks are $5. Weekend brunch brings spiked cereal milk cocktails (and bottomless mimosas) alongside organic chicken and waffles, breakfast pizza and huevos rancheros.
