Santa Fe Tapas Restaurant & Bar Restaurant Review: The Garden District gained a good tapas destination with the launch of this restaurant right on the St. Charles streetcar line; the place is operated by the same family that owns the Southwestern restaurant called Santa Fe. Try the sugar cane-skewered lamb lollipops with mint chimichurri, carne asada, and grilled caramelized scallops with mango and green tomato pico de gallo. Complementing it all is a respectable collection of Spanish wines, not the least of which is the Palacios Remondo La Vendimia, a modern-style red Rioja wine. If you smell roses and taste plums and Bing cherries, your palate is alive and well. Save a few sips to accompany the chocolate ganache cake or Belgian chocolate cheesecake for dessert.
