A new seafood restaurant, Arch Rock Fish, has opened at 608 Anacapa Street in downtown Santa Barbara. In addition to the usual suspects---grilled salmon, cioppino, seared ahi tuna---the menu offers baked kusshi oysters with creamed spinach, bacon and tomato hollandaise; lobster rolls; and rare albacore tuna sandwiches with spicy cucumbers and shaved fennel. A longstanding part of the local music scene in downtown Ventura, Zoey's Café has relocated from Main Street to a new location at 185 E. Savoy Café & Deli Reopens
Savoy Café & Deli, a lunchtime favorite known for healthy organic food and a sprawling salad bar, has returned to its original location at 24 W. Figueroa Street in downtown Santa Barbara, replacing Cantwell's Deli. Another locals' favorite eatery, Cantwell's remains open at two other locations: 1533 State St., Santa Barbara, and 2580 Lillie Av., Summerland. Savoy Café & Deli, 24 W. Santa Barbara's Month-Long Culinary Extravaganza
Locavores, foodies and cultural enthusiasts can savor Santa Barbara throughout October during epicure.sb: a community-wide culinary extravaganza featuring food and drink festivals, cooking classes, winemaker dinners, seasonal menus, book signings, epicurean-inspired art exhibits and more. Alessandro Cartumini has replaced Martin Frost as executive chef at Four Seasons Resort, The Biltmore Santa Barbara. A native of Piemonte, Italy, he's created an uncomplicated menu built on a farm-to-table foundation. Highlights include crispy branzino with summer beans, and Sonoma lamb chops with peperonata, oregano and squash blossoms.
