Chef Suzanne Goin Chef Suzanne Goin and business partner Caroline Styne, of Los Angeles restaurants Lucques, A.O.C., Tavern and The Larder at Maple Drive, are slated to open a restaurant in Montecito in spring 2013. (Goin and her husband, David Lentz, also operate The Hungry Cat in Santa Barbara.) The project does not have a name yet, but it will feature farm-to-table cuisine. Chef de cuisine Javier Espinoza will oversee the kitchen.

 
The former space of Elements Restaurant & Bar will be taken over by a new restaurant called The French Table. This gastropub and creperie is slated for a late August opening. Expect dishes like sandwiches, burgers, crepes and fondue. The French Table, 129 E. Anapamu St., Santa Barbara, CA 93101, no phone.

Annual Danish Days in Solvang
Celebrate the 76th annual Danish Days in Solvang, "The Danish Capital of America" and enjoy festivities from September 14-16, 2012. There will be parades, colorful costumes, folk dancing, wood-carving demonstrations and even a professional viking reenactment as Danish culture is brought to life along the streets of Solvang. This year's festivities will also include concerts featuring Sonny Semler performing at the Solvang Park Gazebo and a play presented by the PCPA Theaterfest called "Three Sisters," a complex family drama written by Anton Chekhov. Restaurants and bakeries will be serving authentic fare such as aebleskiver (Danish pastry ball) and medisterpølse (Danish sausage) while more than a dozen wine tasting rooms will offer vintages from the Santa Ynez Valley. Lunch Service Starts at Julienne
Julienne has expanded their hours, now serving Lunch Tues.-Fri. and Dinner Tues.-Sun. Dishes from the new lunch menu include smoked mussels with sour cream & onion potato chips; a pulled pork sandwich on a brioche bun; and fried chicken with a biscuit and gravy. Julienne
 

Chef Shuffle

Chef-restaurateurs Matt and Jeff Nichols, of Sides Hardware and Shoes in Los Olivos, have acquired the Red Barn Steak House in Santa Ynez.
