Fresh, sustainable seafood, including an oyster bar, is the draw at Camarillo's new seafood restaurant. Lure Fish House uses a mesquite broiler and changes the menu daily, based on what's available from local fishermen and farmers. Lure Fish House, 259 W. The Napa Grill has opened in Westlake Village. Though its menu pushes steakhouse fare, including a Prime New York strip with peppercorn sauce and the classic iceberg wedge salad, there's also a nice selection of small plates, as well as wood-oven-baked pizzas. The proprietors of Carpinteria chocolate shop Chocolats du Calibressan are opening a second location, this one in Santa Barbara's La Arcada Courtyard. Husband-wife team Jean-Michel and Jill-Marie Carré will serve walk-in clientele, as well as wholesale customers. Following the success of her Santa Barbara café and cupcake bakery, Shannon Noormand, proprietor of Crushcakes & Café, has opened a new location in Carpinteria. In addition to the ubiquitous little cakes, Crushcakes serves California-style soups, salads and sandwiches seven days a week. Maravilla Sunset Dinners
Maravilla, the Ojai Valley Inn & Spa's fine-dining crown, now offers a relatively affordable three-course dinner. Ruth Reichl Comes to Town
Noted writer and food critic Ruth Reichl will discuss her unique set of culinary experiences on March 27 at the Granada Theatre in Santa Barbara. Admission is $21. The show begins at 3 p.m. Reichl's best-selling memoirs have received six James Beard Awards, and she's written about food for a number of publications.
