THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Sawatdee Restaurant Review: The newer locations might not be as decorative with Thai screens and elephant sculptures, but they are just as welcoming and appetizing. Sawatdee's phad Thai is a time test recipe that has just the right amount of vinegary bite, but the best entrée is the rama Thai delight, shrimp or chicken sautéed in a peanut-coconut curry sauce and served over steam spinach. On a cold winter's day there is nothing more uplifting than how the hearty spinach blends with the warm, sweet curry. Appetizers are more uneven, but the satay is a safe bet. For a lighter meal, the shrimp salad with fresh lemongrass is as reliable as it is fragrant. If you like sweet cocktails, have a My Thai, Melon Colada or Plum Spritzer.
