THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Sazerac Grill Restaurant Review

: HURRICANE KATRINA: this establishment is currently closed. For a New Orleans Travel Update as well as resources, information and help click here. The Old World aura and imposing oil portraits of historical figures are gone from the main restaurant of The Fairmont Hotel, leaving us another trendy spot with a casual, American bistro look. The modernized Sazerac is a blend of café chairs, pale-wood and papered walls, and brightly colored accents, although the baroque chandeliers remain. The menu seems to be seeking a style. The cream in a classic version of lobster bisque seems a little dated in these surroundings, and beefsteak fans who order the grilled rib-eye have to confront one that's been marinated, although delicately. Table service is more light-hearted and less formal than it was in the old days, making for a more relaxed atmosphere all around.
