: Fans of Gustav Mauler's Spiedini will love his Sazio, with its rainbow-lighted walkway, vibrant colors and metal cutouts of the twirling pasta logo. The wavy luminescent bar is a popular gathering place. Mauler, one of just 64 Master Chefs in the country, has created a versatile menu to satisfy a variety of appetites---indeed, sazio means satisfaction. Creative focaccia sandwiches are offered for lunch. Among favorites served all day and evening are creamy baked spinach-and-artichoke dip with three cheeses; brick oven-baked pizzas; salads such as walnut-crusted chicken with feta cheese, candied walnuts and strawberries; grilled chicken breast with fettuccine, broccoli, sun-dried tomatoes and garlic cream sauce; a half-pound meatball over a mountain of pasta marinara; eggplant Parmesan; and a signature dish---Sazio salmon, a pan-seared filet topped with a honey-basil glaze accompanied by angel hair pasta and vegetables. Sazio dinner winners include chicken Marsala and Alfredo, grilled Sicilian beef and sausage, beef tagliatta---grilled medallions with red wine reduction and crispy onions---and Parmesan-crusted veal Sorrento layered with crispy eggplant, marinara and mozzarella. Save room for the bread pudding topped with vanilla ice cream and caramel sauce, or the tiramisu with a hint of brandy. Kids under 10 eat free on Wednesdays.
