Situated in the middle of the art and theater district, Scholars is the place to stop for a late-night drink and dessert, whether it’s in the sophisticated dining room, tony lounge or on the spacious heated patio. Start with the beef carpaccio and a glass of wine while you ponder the rest of the menu. Entrées will suit every preference, but the simple-sounding lemon-thyme chicken with Parmesan creamed rice and broccoli relish is too good to miss. Those who dine during lunch should try the memorable salad with tender lettuce, apricots, walnuts, Gruyère, pears and maple cider vinaigrette. At meal’s end, indulge with a root beer float, Key lime pie or warm apple crumble. And you can’t go wrong with the bread pudding with a Grand Marnier glaze.
