| Scott's is one of the few places in Sacramento to find fresh, high-end seafood. Despite competition brought by newer, flashier restaurants, it remains a viable player in the city’s culinary scene. Diners are greeted by a bright blue-and-yellow fish seemingly busting through the exterior brickwork, but inside, the décor is far more refined, with dim lighting, neutral colors and white tablecloths. The menu, naturally, features plenty of fish and shellfish as well as steak and pasta. The signature macadamia nut-crusted Alaskan halibut is hearty yet flaky, complemented with a rich brown butter sauce. The roasted Australian lobster tail is toasty on the outside and tender inside, and has a depth of flavor not found in its steamed counterparts. For dessert, opting for the daily house-made gelato or sorbet, often in unique flavors such as malted milk chocolate or blood orange, is the best way to end a meal. |
